Three Tips for Showing Your Brentwood, CA House in the Winter

Three Tips for Showing Your Home in the Winter. Did you know that winter is actually one of the best times to sell your home? But where to start? Hi, I’m Krista Mashore, Owner-Broker of Homes by Krista. Wintertime means less competition in the marketplace, and buyers tend to be more serious about purchasing. So, take advantage of that, and list your home now. Even with the leverage, there are still some things that will help you sell quickly before the spring rush starts. Number one, keep the decor simple. If you’re a holiday fanatic, make sure your decorations are packed away or at least minimized. Some pretty, white lights outside can enhance curb appeal, but make sure that Christmas tree is long gone. Number two, capitalize on the cozy. Light a fire, and burn some scented candles. Bake some cookies. Create an environment that screams home, and not just a house. Third, light the way. The sun goes down early in the winter, so even mid-afternoon showings can be dark. Be sure to have a well lit-up path to the door, and be sure to light up the exterior to make the house look appealing. Of course, standard showing rules still apply. Declutter, and de-personalize. But these little extra touches can help a prospective buyer to imagine themselves living in your home. For other tips and tricks on how to maximize your investment, please be sure to reach out to us here at Homes by Krista, as my clients and their success is always my success. And as always, make it a great home selling and buying day.
