National Market Update #2
- All I want for Christmas is to Sell My Home?

Can you believe we are entering the holiday season? It seems like we were just raising our glasses to toast 2022. Hi, I’m Krista Mashore of Homes by Krista and Exp Realty. As a seller you may be asking is it wise to sell your house during the holidays? In real estate, this is typically the slowest months of the year for buyers and sellers. However, if you are a homeowner that needs to sell now due to job relocation, divorce or maybe the current size of your home no longer meets your needs due to a growing family, here are key points you may want to consider to help with your decision: #1 – You will be getting one Step Ahead of Other Sellers. Typically most homeowners will wait until the new year before listing their home due to the hustle and bustle of holiday shopping and gatherings. However, listing your property now will give you the opportunity to get ahead of the competition. #2 – You will be getting in front of Serious Buyers and not just Looky Loos. Most buyers searching for property during the holiday season are typically serious buyers and not just looky loos “just curious” on what is on the market.  By listing your property during the holiday months, you have the advantage of being in front of a buyer who is eager to make a purchase before the end of the year. #3 – You are in a Better Position to Move Up. Remember it is easy to get distracted with all the hustle and bustle of the holidays, do not lose sight of why you need to sell in the first place. Maybe it is because you need a bigger space or a better location for your kids to go to school. AND today’s seller is in a better position to “move up” due to the amount of equity in their home. According to Corelogic, the average amount of equity per mortgage holder has climbed to an all time high of $300,000!!! And, as always, consult with your trusted real estate agent to get the latest information on the market.  Feel free to reach out to me and my team so we can fill you in on the latest market updates in your local area.
